Ed Klaris is the Managing Partner of Klaris IP, a law and strategy firm dedicated to helping companies with content, music, software and trademarks manage their intellectual property rights, as well as protect, enforce, and monetize their intellectual assets. Ed is an accomplished copyright, trademark and media lawyer, who worked as Senior Vice President at Condé Nast, where he led a group of about 50 people managing and monetizing all of the company’s media assets. Ed has extensive legal experience, having been General Counsel of The New Yorker, media counsel at ABC, Inc., and an associate at Davis Wright Tremaine, a leading IP and media firm in NY. Ed has been an adjunct professor of law at Columbia Law School since 2005 where he teaches IP and media law. His clients range from multi-billion dollar media and technology companies to global hospitality companies to not-for-profits looking to optimize the value of their brands and content.
